The most noticeable feature in this range are Sharp Peak, 1540 ft. high, with one spur to the north, 1630 ft. high, and another spur running into Solo Harbour, ending in the magnificent twin peaks on English Munch Back. The hills are known to the Chinese as Jai-Rok-train or Saddle Mountain, which reaches a height of 2305 ft.; peaks 1895, 1440, and 1240 ft. high immediately to the north of Kowloon City, ending in a peak 1600 ft. high to the north.
This range drops rapidly into Hau Hing Harbour opposite Stone Cutters Island, but reappears in the island of Lantao, where it reaches an elevation of 3050 ft. near the west end of the island.
The northern range extends from Crooked Harbour in the north past Mirs Bay to Castle Peak Bay and the southern point of Deep Bay. It commences with elevations 1655 ft., 1500 ft., and 1200 ft.
